Starting a business in Ireland can be exciting. Fortunately, the Irish government offers a wide range of grants and supports to help new businesses get established.

One of the most commonly used grants for startups is the Start-up Refunds for Entrepreneurs (SURE) Scheme. This grant provides up to €50,000 in tax relief for individuals who are starting a business in Ireland. The grant can be used to cover expenses such as the cost of incorporating a company, professional fees, and other costs related to setting up the business.

The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) provides financial assistance to small businesses in the form of grants and loans. These funds can be used for a variety of business activities, such as market research and expansion, training, and product development. It’s worth noting that the LEO also offers free advice on business planning and mentoring to help entrepreneurs get their startups off the ground.

Additionally, the Department of Business, Enterprise, and Innovation provides a range of support to businesses in Ireland, including grants for research, development, and innovation (RD&I) projects. These RD&I grants are available to companies that are carrying out innovative work in areas such as engineering and manufacturing.

Furthermore, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine offers grants to businesses in the food sector that are looking to improve their production processes or develop new products.

Finally, there are a number of other government initiatives aimed at supporting startups. These include Enterprise Ireland’s Competitive Start Fund, which provides up to €50,000 for entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas, and the Innovate to Grow Voucher Scheme, which gives businesses up to €2,500 for consultancy services.

In short, there are a variety of different grants and supports available to help new businesses in Ireland get established. To find out more about these options and how you can apply for them, contact your local LEO or Enterprise Ireland office.

These grants and support can help early-stage startups get off the ground. There are a number of options available, so it's important to do your research to see what will work best for your business.
